The Land and Water Form Trays are an introduction to the abstract representation of land and water.  As children begin to recognise and identify a variety of shapes, they can use their own ideas of what represents land and water as they feel and observe the images of each tray.

These trays are an exploration of dimension, reflection and contrast as children explore their observational skills to identify different shapes.  While some children may not relate them to land and water masses, they will certainly engage their skills of scientific inquiry as they observe the differences and similarities.
