Tips & ideas

These tactile letter cards encourage children to trace the shape of each letter with their fingers.  Through this exploration, children begin to understand the pattern and direction of letters, while also becoming familiar with the visual symbols, essential for early writers.

As each letter is on its own card, children can also use the cards to begin forming familiar words.  With the addition of the upper case letters, children can identify familiar proper names, such as names, and begin to explore simple rules of grammar.
