The Mina Mina Dreaming Indigenous Flutter Dress is a beautifully designed and child-friendly doll’s dress. The dress is perfect for little hands as they have been designed with no Velcro, zips or clips. The dress can be easily stretched around the neckline to slip over the head or up and over the legs whilst tucking the arms in.
The Mina Mina Dreaming artwork is an authentic Indigenous design by Pauline Napangardi Gallagher. This 'Jukurrpa' (Dreaming) comes from Mina Mina, an important women's Dreaming site - far to the west of Yuendumu. In the Dreamtime, ancestral women danced at Mina Mina and 'karlangu' (digging sticks) rose from the ground. The women collected these travelled east dancing, digging for bush tucker, collecting 'ngalyipi' (snake vine) and creating many places as they went along their travels. As the women travelled, they collected 'jintiparnta' (desert truffle) moving far beyond Warlpiri country and as far as Queensland. In Warlpiri paintings, traditional iconography is used to represent the Jukurrpa and other elements.
